Actually, Most phones don't have this. Huwaei added Alexa to the Mate 9.

If Google adds this to stock android then maybe we will see it. Maybe it will be a download for Alexa or Google.

Motorola doesn't comment on upcoming software so no one here can give you an answer as to what might come.

Assistant is part of the Google app you already have. It will be up to Google whether they wish to enable it on devices other than Pixel, Allo and Home. You can enable it manually, but it does require some tinkering.

Until Assistant is developed a little more, you're better off with Google as it currently is.

The full version of Google Assistant is ONLY available on the  Pixel. However, you can USE Google Assistant WITHIN the Google Allo app and have access to many of the features. Besides, you can ask Google to do quite a few things like check your calendar, add events to your calendar, look up information, call people, and so forth. And, a full blown AI assistant is really not perfected yet. As someone who owns an Amazon Echo and two Dots, I can confirm it has its limitations. Google's capabilities are comparatively better in many ways.

Even if Google releases Assistant to other manufacturers, there is no guarantee at all (as AlphaDog has already noted) that the G4 or any Moto phone would be included.

You're right, using Assistant in Allo is probably the best you can ask for right now. Interestingly, Assistant on Home is far superior to Alexa in many ways, yet plenty of basic functionality is missing.

The release would be through the existing app as it's only a flip of a server side switch. You have the code, it just isn't enabled. Of course, it will up to the manufacturers to decide whether they allow you to use it or wish you to use their equivalent.

For those who are wondering if using the Google Now Launcher will give them access to Google Assistant, be advised that, according to a leaked memo published by Android Police, Google is planning on "unpublishing" the Google Now Launcher sometime before the end of the first quarter. Developers have been notified that they will have access to Google Search Launcher Services. Apparently, those how have the Google Now Launcher installed on their devices can keep using it and it will be supported by Google. To see the contents of the memo:

Google AI is Pixel Exclusive as for Now, and what we are listening are rumors and rumors. And Google has provided API for developers so they can Integrate Google Cards and Google Now and Swipe Right For cards in Any Launcher. So They are removing Google Now Launcher too. And According to My personal Preference, Google AI is Good, But Sometimes I feel It misses few Things That Google Now On Tap provide like Sharing Screen, Translate on Tap and many More.
