MOTO G4 Plus - Dual-SIM support in European versions

2016-05-27, 8:43 AM

Do any of the European versions of the Moto G4 plus that are currently sold via Moto Maker support Dual-SIMs?

On the UK Motorola website, it is written on the "full specifications" page that Dual SIM support is available via Moto Maker, but this option is not mentioned explicitly in Moto Maker.

This is quite confusing, especially since other European stores (French and German) do not explicitly say that Dual SIM support is available via Moto Maker, but only that it is available in "some regions" (ok, but which ones?). Browsing through the web I only see Dual SIM support explicitly confirmed in India.

Thanks for any information about this.

Moto UK says G4 & G4 Plus are both dual SIM as standard but G4 Play is only single SIM. HTH.

Thanks for your answer, but could you tell me where you see this? On http://www.motorola.co.uk/products/moto-g-plus I only see:

"Dual-SIM model available"

and

"Dual-SIM (Available via Moto Maker)"

This seems to indicate that this is not standard but only available as an option.

Thanks again.

It was confusing to me as well, so I used the Motorola online assistance and they told me what I posted. I asked them to amend their web pages, which they have yet to do. Only when they are for sale in the UK will we know for sure.

OK, great, contacting the online assistance was also my next step so it's good to know someone already did it. Indeed it would be a good idea for them to amend their website.

Thanks!

Thanks -- we'll fix this on the Web site. Appreciate you pointing this out. The Dual SIM options are available in France and Germany, AND but not in the UK.

NOTE: Fixing my error. Sorry folks. Dual SIM in all three countries via Moto Maker. - Matt

So you're saying Mohammed from Motorola lied to me? No dual SIM in the UK?

I don't know what you were told, but the Dual SIM is not offered in the UK. Sorry if you were misinformed.

There is already a Motoz and a Motoz1 on this community. I see that you were Motoz on the old forums before we moved here. I think I can change you -- the current Motoz seems to be incorrectly named.

Can you confirm that the posts currently associated with this profile are all yours? Thanks.

Yes I can confirm that, my original username has been restored.

I contacted Moto UK again and Chintala told me " Chintala: By default all the moto G4plus and Moto G4  device are dual sim device which are available to you on our web site."

Puzzled?

Very. But it seems as if you use a different email when contacting Customer Care than you do here, so I can't find your interaction to make sure the agent(s) are coached. Could you provide me with the name or email you use when you call?

I fixed your username
