Microphone not working after updating Oreo 8.1

I'm using Moto g4 pus which has a problem recently after updating to Oreo.. the in-built microphone is not working while calling or speaking to a person ( others cant hear me) I've tried testing sound recording but can't hear anything.. but the mic seems to work while recording a video from the default camera.. please help me to rectify the issue..

Sorry to know about this and thanks for letting us know. I would like you to take the Hardware test-- go to the app drawer > Moto/Device help > Hardware test > Mic > test.

 

Let me know the test result. I will be waiting for your response.

I did tried from moto help under hardware test still fails to record any sound. I tried replacing the mic too..nothing's working but while recording video the audio is recorded.. im totally confused here..

I see. Unfortunately, the device needs to be repaired. If the hardware test fails, a repair would be the next option.

I did repairing by replacing the mic but doesn't change a thing.. but one thing I don't understand is it records sound very well in video recording mode but fails to record sound in any other ways

Are you using any third-party app to record? Apart from the default video recording, how are you trying to record?

I would suggest you, please email at apsocial@motorola.com regarding your concerns (make sure to mention that you have already repaired once). Also, provide your contact number and the device IMEI in the email.

 

It could be that the issue started after the repair, we would like to escalate this to our concerned team.
