Re: Nougat update drains battery in Moto G4 Plus

2017-03-04, 17:09 PM

Hi

My battery is draining pretty fast. It doesn't even last 8 hours with normal usage. Can someone check my screenshot and help with this?

How is it that I only have 7 hours left with more than 90% charge. My brightness is at its lowest. None of my apps drain too much battery. The screen shot I posted is with normal usage. I lost around 9% in less than 40 minutes, at least 20 of which was standby/idle.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well I'm having the battery problems too even after do a factory reset and we're on March and still nothing and if someday we receive something it's just going to be Nougat 7.0. Motorola was the best in updates but now it became one of the worst, what disappointment, maybe Nokia would be now what Motorola was in updates.

I still have the ghost touch phenomena when charging with most mains chargers. To avoid ghost touch I use only portable chargers...

Okay, my phone updated to Nougat early this morning (official UK update). Since that my battery life is about half of what it used to be :-( "Mobile Standby" seems to use a lot of juice. I did a few restarts. Resetted app permissions. Did the wipe cache partition thing. No luck. I don't want to do a clean factory reset as it's a lot of work to install all apps, set all system/app settings etc and it seems for most people it doesn't help anyway (or at least doesn't help for longer than a day or two). Lenovo please look into this!

Hi

I have tried all of the things you suggested and the battery still drains so fast. Is there any actual solution for this? I end up charging the phone twice a day which shouldn't be the case for a 3000mAh battery.

For those who still have Problems. For me it works not  to use the Power charger. As fast as its loaded so fast it drains.. But only with the turbo charger

Hi everyone,

Battery drain is normal after a major update as it still needs more power to successfully complete the update. Have you checked if Bluetooth or Wifi Scanning is off? To check, go to Settings> Location> tap 3 dots> Scanning> toggle off Bluetooth and Wifi Scanning and see if that works. This option may also consume battery without knowing. If that doesn't work, I would still suggest putting it in safe mode, if not, do a full factory reset without installing or restoring apps to observe for few days and see if there will be an improvement.

Regards,
Jess
