Signal Drop Issue - Moto G4 Plus

2017-02-05, 11:44 AM

Hi All,

My Moto G4 Plus automatically goes to emergency mode in idle mode as well as at the end of any phone call. Sometimes, it does not even connect to the network automatically after rebooting the device. It's very very frustrating. I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps but absolutely NO luck ..

- Swapped SIMs between slot 1 and 2

- Changed the existing SIM card with the brand new from the cellular company

- Tested another cellular network's SIM card in both the slots (one at a time)

- Forced the device to use a preferred mode on 2G, 3G or 4G

- Hard reset within the device

- Hard reset using the recovery mode on the device

- No software updates available either

I have been very disappointed with this & has made the phone absolutely unusable. Is there any FIX available to resolve this issue before I go into the long hassle of repair etc ..

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks

I had the exact same issue. Network dropping as soon as the call ended and not returning. Sent mine in for repair, but even when they were adamant it was fixed, it wasn't (they actually managed to break the charging port too). Insisted on a replacement that showed up in the mail a few days later. Faulty hardware I guess.

I'd send it out to be serviced.

Thanks for the feedback.

This is very disappointing indeed. I have given it to my brother as gift & now have to recall it for the repairs.

I would ask for the refund, cannot have this headache ...

Hi sominaik,

I appreciate what you have tried to do. Does it happen to all locations? Does it only happen to a specific location? Have you tried to reset Network Settings?

Go to Settings> Backup and Reset> Reset Network Settings. Let us know if that works.

Regards,
Jess

Yes I have tried at different locations, same issue.

I think the factory reset should wipe/reset the network settings anyway ..

Why don't Motorola support actually accept that it's a faulty hardware ..!

I have the same issue with my Moto G4. I often get a 'no SIM' display instead of a signal usually when at home. I contacted my service provider, who advised switching to 3g connection instead of 4g. This worked- for a while. Now, the same issue has returned- this time, the phone reverts to a 4g connection, even though I had changed it to 3g. I cannot change it to 3g again while the phone is in this condition, because while there is 'no SIM' detected, changing the Preferred Network Type is unavailable. Sometimes, turning the phone off and on again works. Very frustrating and inconvenient. Would love a permanent solution..

G4Plus Loosing Cellular signal

2018-10-19, 17:44 PM

I'm not sure why, but I keep randomly loosing Cellular Signal in a known good location (like at home). I have to reboot the phone and then cellular service is restored to normal.

The only thing I can think of that is somewhat common, is if I have the phone connected via BlueTooth for an excessive length of time.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to diagnose or fix the issue?

Thanks in adavance!
