Re: Android 8 Oreo update for Moto g4 plus as promised by moto

as a senior moderator why don't you communicate with Lenovo Motorola stating that your customers over forums and Twitter are full of anger because of no release dates and delays...

please senior moderator..  communicate from our side with Motorola..

I really want to ask question to Lenovo Motorola that if you can't provide a release date then how can a company like Nokia can provide the release date why don't you follow them ?

is it that hard to provide at least a release month ?

AlphaDog is correct

i am from Hong kong and i read both chinese and overseas news, according to rumors from china, Oreo is certainly coming to G4 plus, and they have sceduled a project on it already

the bad news is that the project hasn't even started yet

having Z and G5 as the first and second tiers, G4 plus is in the third tier, and its not going to start until all other jobs are finished due to the "unplanned" update

from beginning of a project till it finishes is generally 6 months for the first tier, 12 months for the second tier, and unfortunately the G4 plus will have to wait until all of that finished then they will start the project, so you add another 12 months on top of it

a reasonable estimate of the G4 plus OREO date will be around 2019 Q3 to 2020 Q1

i've been using motorola in the past 15 years, and i can tell you historically MOTO never lies. If they promise you'll have the update, you'll have it

and thats why they are so reluctant to tell the release date..........

whatever they do, if it is after August 2018 is useless. I don't see the desperate need of an update for something that is working. BUT getting Oreo released after Jan 2019 for a device bought in 2017, well, they will be all broken, lost, battery already past its life, etc.

Batteries will wear out, but the rest should last if you take care of it. None of my phones have every failed to last - other then the battery.

You should take better care of your phone. Or maybe people just abuse budget phones because they paid less.

Hey what do you want to say "paid less". You are getting your salery because we are paying for your worthless product. The liers. Guys do you know this company again does the same thing with Lenovo z5. They lied about the features of phone again just like G4 plus.
We know you are thinking people belived our lies about 45 days battery backup and 4 TB storage in Z5 right???? No not at all, cause we know cheaters cannot offer such high end smartphone.

What is there to reply to? You didn't ask a question.

Paid less - in response to a comment about budget phones not lasting - read my comment again and try to understand i was saying people may not take care of phones they paid less for.

But I am a volunteer, so i don't get a "salery"

As for Android O, moto said the phone would get it. And although moto doesn't give dates, the smart thinking is that the G4 will get updated after the other phones like G5 and Z line... Sorry if that is is unpopular, but it makes sense. Only my opinion, but i have been around for a while.

45 day battery and 4TB storage? Who claimined that? I think you are dreaming, but if you find such a phone and need that, you may want to buy it.

If you think the phone is a worthless product, then why do you want an update?

If you have a question i can answer, I wil.

The fact that the G5 is still waiting is pathetic. They have not even received one update.  At this point I expect they will make up some excuse and fob the G4 update off. (Obama's fault! )
