Another thing the Moto class while all of the Motorola's phones are stuck in a time warp with the stinking 645 chip  why in the heck can they not at  least up grade there processors to the 845 Intel chip that would make so much more sense

Cost. Remember that value wise the Moto is still one of the more affordable mid-range offerings and you'll be hard pressed to get the same for the money.

the beta been out since late Nov, and the second beta been out since early Jan, but it's too late to send beta in these times, some beta users are reporting that Motorola themselves didn't open the thread for them to report back

My gut feeling is that there will be no more updates for Moto g4/g4+ The g4 devices are almost 3 years old. The g5, g6 and g7 have quite a few variations without even getting to the e series. - so I suspect all available development/testing efforts are focused on the newer phones. I'm using my g4 right now to post this comment, but I'm realistic in accepting most people have moved on to newer devices. Even if Oreo was released, this device has quite an old slow processor / ram anyway - so we'll get a worse experience than with 7.0 I think.

And it starts here already "microSD, up to 512 GB (uses SIM 2 slot) - dual SIM model only"

That is one of the reasons I got the Moto. 2 SIM slots plus micro SD slot, not a hybrid.

The only other phone with similar specs and price at this point is Xiaomi Redmi S2.

And where we are that Sony costs more than double the Moto or Xiaomi. The only Sony that gets close price wise is the XA1 and even that is 1 third more expensive than the Xiaomi.

Are you kidding? It costs more than a Samsung Galaxy S9 in Canada. About $1000!
