moto e4 plus

This device will remain on Android 7.1 (Nougat)

Do you have the latest Motorola software? Find out.

Guess they changed their minds. No surprise .

The E4 is not a G or Android One. It was never intended to get a major update - the E phones have always been this way.

Not Saying the G4 plus is Android One. Just saying that Android One phones have the benefit of guaranteed updates for a specified period. If the G4 plus gets Oreo, that will be the equivalent of the two major version updates. If the oreo comes with a bundled security update to December 2018, then that will be 2.5 years worth of security patches. One more patch would pretty much take it to three years

Not bad compared with the competition. Just saying

Well being the slowest in classroom isn't something to be proud off. And in this case Moto first tried to weasel out of updating the G4 to Oreo. But because of some intern writing the marketing material and a manager not caring about proofreading the text it was released with  a promise of two major updates. But we all know by now that Moto will not do more than what is absolutly necassary to not get kicked out of the Enterprise recommended program by Google. The only android one phone they probably is just to say hey look we also have one, maintaining more One phones would look to much like hard work that could also be used to releasing more phones with very few improvements over it's predecessors. I believen they finally realised they couldn't het away with releasing the g7s on a 32 bit android, like they did with de G4 g5 and cheapest G6 phones. And that this is also the reasons why it took such a ludicrous ammount of time to update the G4 and g5 to Oreo Moto might be the only one running an official 32 bit Oreo because Oreo aosp was only released as 64 they had to frankenstein it themself completly. So no I don't expect anything from Motorola anymore there are much better optioneel arround these days.

Didn't realise the 32/64 bit was a thing!

They may be slow, but at least they're getting there. Still a good phone for the price!

Yep, I'm an idiot. Saw that on the update site and read "G4+" not E4+. Sorry! Guess I was just expecting the worst.
