Re: Moto G4 Plus WIFI battery drain

Hi guys, I have this same problem on my brand new Motorola G4 Plus (what a great phone).

I noticed that the WiFi consumed all my battery, even disabling the location and disabling the WiFi when the phone sleeps.

I solved it by uninstalling an app from Google, it's name is "Google connectivity services" (Google Play URL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.gcs)

After uninstalling it, I don't see any more the WiFi draining all my battery.

I hope it's the same problem that you report, and the solution.

Sorry for my English, I'm Argentinian.

Re: Moto G4 Plus WIFI battery drain

Hey mat , iam a Indian user of moto g 4 plus , recently I got a new security patch update

Since then my phone's battery is draining fast.

Like on a average use I am getting nearly of 5 hours of backup

When I checked battery usage details I got to know that media and media server are the two things along with WiFi consuming my battery.

Could you please find a solution for my problem as soon as possible, because 5hrs of backup is not at all cool...!!

Re: Moto G4 Plus WIFI battery drain

Hi matt,

I have the same issue wifi is draining battery in moto g4 plus even if the following has been done

1) full factory reset

2) wifi and Bluetooth scanning is off

3) location setting is in "device only " mode

4) wifi is always off during sleep mode

But still wifi is draining the battery maximum.

Re: Moto G4 Plus battery drain and get over heated

Standby mode consume a lot of battery even more than the screen and battery doesn't last half a day
