Go to settings, there is search on top left corner in Android 7.1.1
Click on search and type 'power button ' in search bar.
You will get ' jump to camera ' option click on that.
You can disable it there.
It is working for.me

Yes, this is the solution! But it's another one of those 'features' that we didn't know about until an upgrade put it there.............sick of this sort of thing................your device is working how you want it until yet another update and then all sorts of things happen, none of which we have any interest in. I've so many devices, GPS, phone, tablet etc., and am fed up with the endless interference I get with all of them every time there's a software update. My devices are merely tools, not a hobby that I want to spend endless time on learning about.
Thanks for the seemingly obvious heads up about the display settings feature. It's now sorted, but I wouldn't otherwise have thought of trying to solve a 'camera keeps coming on when I hit the on button' in the display features.

It is very simple . Open your camera app > slide your finger to right to get more options in camera for settings > you can see an option called "Quick capture " (Double tap the power button to open the camera ) > uncheck the toggle option to off >
If this is useful ...please reply and share it to many people ...
Almost every time I press the power button on my Moto G4 to unlock the screen the camera opens, which is becoming really annoying... I'd like to know if there is a way to turn that shortcut off or a solution to that problem, if someone could help me I'd appreciate. Thanks!
