Re: Update to Android 8 Oreo for my G4

Installed on retgb 2 days ago

Looks like December 2018 will be the last security update, Google still makes security updates for Android 8.1

Re: Update to Android 8 Oreo for my G4

Its 13th today and no more update info from Lenovo. We can see that they'll change the date to next month 18th or later. Its seems that's gonna happen. Not saying anything badly being emotional till 18th.

Re: Update to Android 8 Oreo for my G4

They already changed the Page of software update of India for motoMoto G4 plus . Now No mention of 18 th april. So be ready to be stabbed again in back.

They are just sayin  ," Soon, the upgrade will arrive for the entire moto g4plus user base, consistent with the company’s previous commitment. Please visit the current page for details on the roll-out."

Now even they are not sure about their own update status, so don't take your expectations high or don't even expect. They have failed miserably.

Yes, see what i said exactly before. They revealed their real face. Now they tell that its just a commitment. No 1 cheaters among cellphone manufacturers. We won't get updates in 2019 anymore and don't waste time by listening to their moderator men. Never promote this brand to anybody forever, we will be cursed by them..hell with you Lenovo. Get lost with your **bleep**ty products and boasting.

Re: Update to Android 8 Oreo for my G4

Yeah that  famous dialogue came to my mind ,

"Tarkih par tarikh, tarkih par tarikh, tarkih par tarikh, tarkih par tarikh milti rahi hai … lekin UPDATE nahin mila my lord, UPDATE nahin mila … mili hai toh sirf yeh tarikh"

That dialogue completely Fits Here for Moto.

Even they have pulled the expected date. Now we don't even have Tarikh.

Yeah the things we can do are joke , hope , wait and lastly as always getting frustrate.

Let's just wait For 4 complementary days. 18 april is coming.

If any Sr moderator still listening , For God shake please Clear the Update situation and Get us know what's the status of update in india and when we will Get.

Re: Update to Android 8 Oreo for my G4

Me, too. Device has been updated for 14 days, now. All good so far. Although mine froze part way through the restart process, a forced power off and restart seems to go ok.

Like the interface improvements mostly. EverythEve  is working that I can see, Bluetooth, networking, camera, etc all ok.

Overall, I still love the device, and see no reason to change it while it lasts. The only shame is that there will be no more security updates. If Microsoft can provide security updates for years to windows versions, why can't phone manufacturers?
