2019-01-19, 14:44 PM

My moto g4 plus (retgb) is still on april 2018 security update

There will be more security updates for moto g4 plus or has security updates been stopped for moto g4 plus?

or is it because android 8.1 will be rolled out soon for it?

update page says

moto g4 plus

This device will be upgraded to the Android 8 (Oreo) release of Android, pending partner support.

Moto doesn't announce specific dates for updates pretty much until they're ready to press, "go."

And please remember, when a partner must participate in an update, we must wait for their part to be completed.

Hi, how can we find out when the security patch for Moto G4 plus will be updated? It is so old now that the company I work for has advised they will remove my corporate email from my phone in April .I really can't have that happen. Thank you .

I have a moto g4 plus.  It is running Android 8.1, but the security patch is 12/1/2018, or nearly a year ago now.

Considering how long it took to get 8.1, and only after Motorola had to be pressured to make good the promise they made in the promotional material, I somehow doubt they will provide any security updates.

The update schedule states that there will be no more security updates. This is a shocking attitude towards existing customers, but that's how they roll. Time to find a caring manufacturer that provides ongoing security support for the devices which they make their money from.
