Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

I am also having the same problem with the choppy calls with Verizon in Long Island, New York.  I'm on my second phone, second sim card, several calls to Motorola and Verizon, with no solutions.  I'm a disabled person who depends on a reliable phone due to my health.  I spoke to Motorola before I purchased the phone, and explained my situation and my concern over compatibility, and they assured me the phone would work with Verizon.  Now, I can't even make my appointment's.  I pray they have a fix very soon.                Yve

Instead of asking a one line question with no explanation as to why you're asking it or what you have or are investigating, is it too much to ask that we get some details as to what progress you have made over the past month or how you are planning to fix this issue? Maybe something like:

Hello everyone, thank you for your understanding while we investigate this issue! We at Motorala appreciate your patience and assistance in getting this resolved. Since this issue was first reported to us in early April, me and my team have done X, Y, and Z in order to attempt to resolve it. Unfortunately, all of these proposed solutions have led us to dead ends. We are currently investigating whether interference between the SIM card and the phone is causing the problems on Verizon. The best way for us to determine whether this is, in fact, the issue is by checking the SIM card strength through the settings in your phone. So, if everyone here could go to Settings > About Phone > Status > SIM Status and report back what's in there, it would help us reach a solution that much faster.

Thanks again everyone for your patience,

-Anne

As things stand, we still have no update whatsoever as to what's going on. The last time a support agent checked into this thread, they asked a question (I think it was location, incoming / outgoing calls, etc.), and provided no feedback or insight into what is going on. It is beyond frustrating to get no response and when we get a "response" it provides no information as to either the problem or the steps taken to resolve the issue.

PLEASE, could we get an update on the progress on this issue?

Well said. I will be returning the phone within a week if we get no update in the next couple of days. If Motorola agrees to take the phone back from all Verizon customers if they find no fix within, let's say 3 months, then I would be willing to keep it until then. The phone is the best option for unlocked devices that work on Verizon based on specs, but it's useless if it can't even perform at it's specified standard.

Does this problem exist with StraightTalk customers operating over the verizon CDMA network?

This is how I was planning to use the phone---but now I have to wait to buy until the issue is resolved!

Now I don't want to start any rumors, but my sister knows a Verizon employee and she said that person said that Moto is hoping to have a fix sometime next week.  So it seems Verizon is very aware of the issue, probably due to all the people coming into their stores about the issue.  I'm sure they have reached out to Motorola.  Not everyone is as savy as the folks on this forum and wouldn't think to look here.  I'm sure there are thousands of people on Verizon affected, I think this issue is across the board with this device on Verizon.  Let's all pray this is true, as next week is the deadline I have set to send this phone back again.
