Hi Anne, no I haven't reached out to Verizon yet.   I can switch the SIM card back to my Moto G4 and to my iPhone6 and both can make/receive clear calls.   So the problem seems specific to the G5 Plus.

Hi glidefloss,

Have you tried a different sim on your G5 plus?

Hi Anne,  unfortunately I only have 1 SIM card.

I've also tried it with and without the case I got for the phone  ... no difference.

As mentioned earlier, Skype works fantastic on the G5 Plus - on wifi and on cell data.

Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

Am not sure what happened but I got a call which came through crystal clear.   After the call, i made a couple of calls and both were just as clear.    I hadn't done anything to the phone settings after trying the turning off of Enhanced 4G LTE Mode (which didn't work then.)   The clear calls received/made with Enhanced 4G LTE Mode on.

Barely an hour ago in/out calls were really choppy ... and now without having done anything to rectify the situation, things are now good.  Sorry that that won't be much to help others with the same problem.

My Celluar Network Settings:

Preferred network type: Global

Enhanced 4G LTE Mode:  On

System select:  Home Only

CDMA subscription: RUIM/SIM

Hopefully it stays this way because at this time, the 5Plus can make/receive calls as expected.

Hi glidefloss,

Choppy call audio could be network related. Please contact Verizon so they can open a network ticket to check.

I plan to do so.   The choppiness occurred again last night but it went away shortly after.   What it sounded like was very much like a voip call with poor bandwidth, so yes, it seems like a network issue of sorts.

I've been having the same issue.  I have been to a Verizon store and they were unable to fix the issue.

I just switched Preferred Network Type from global to lte/cma. My first test call was a success!  Crossing my fingers that this is does the trick.  My phone has been worthless for making phone calls so far.  :(

So I did a facotry reset yesterday evening and I haven't had the issue return. Not sure why the factory reset worked though... I'll update if it returns.
