Hard to reproduce? Are you kidding? All you have to do is turn on Enhanced LTE.  The problem isnt random... its constant.

I took a gamble and went with Motorola instead of Samsung for the first time in my life...boy was this a huge mistake. The call quality is absolute trash for Verizon even with the "fix" from one of the posts in this thread. This phone has so much potential but has a huge Achilles heel. I will never make the mistake of getting another Moto device again.

When I was in the Verizon story replacing my sim card (again, he wasn't trying to sell me anything)...he also had the same comment.  Something along the lines that unlocked phones generally don't work well on Verizon--he was not surprised that the G5 wasn't working properly.  He also said something about well--even if it said, "for Verizon" that didn't really mean it was fully tested and able to work with Verizon.  He also said that he has seen problems over and over again.

Almost 300 comments and no resolution from the company, this is very reproducible Matt and disappointing.

several different Verizon reps knowing of the issue should state its wide spread. Yesterday, I called Verizon to disable the call HD because I could not find the option on their website.  The Verizon tech saw the model and turned it off to help improve ' the issue that many people were having'. I also bought this phone through amazon and have passed the return policy by 5 days.

Its odd I don’t see warniongs on Amazon reviews saying it’s not a good option for Verizon. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but we aren’t getting service here and I feel it’s an obligation to warn others on Amazon to not get suckered into buying a defective product if they are using Verizon. Most casual users wouldn’t bother finding this site, creating an account, filtering the results to work through an answer. Letting others know through Amazons review process may be the best way.

It’s a shame; I don’t want another phone or even a non-Motorola & if the company offers some kind of support or trade in for another model I would probably go for it. I’ve been using Motorola’s since the clam shell days and change very slowly but I guess things change.

There are actually tons of reviews that mention that they had to turn off VoLTE on Verizon.  These are usually followed by a Moto rep ignoring the complaint.  For example:

Typical big-corporation support methods. Instead of being forthcoming on daily findings and progress, which would appease 90% of the users in this post, you provide nothing. Don't tell us it's hard work (it probably is, but that's the life of product support), it's hard to reproduce (it's clearly not), "stuff" is happening. If you're actually doing support work, you're making findings daily. Or maybe everyone is too busy on the G5S to work on this issue...

 

Provide meaningful, timely updates to your customers. We're sick of hearing the same line over and over.

I am using in factory made setting. Problem is same in both incoming and outing calls. Comparison to moto g4 plus, music (speaker) volume is also very low.

Just a question, was this problem happening before the 911 update or did it start after the 911 fix was released?
