I am having the problem with "choppy" calls on my G5 Plus. I have had it for a few weeks. Some calls are fine and I thought it might be a signal strength issue. Yesterday I was waiting in the cell phone lot at the airport for a call from my wife to pick her up at DIA. Same choppy sound. I had to have her text me with door number. I know there is no problem with signal at the airport and the cell phone lot where you wait for flights to come in. Sadly I think I will have to return it to Best Buy. 

I know just enough to be dangerous!

tweeted and sent a message to @Moto_USA. Some actual information would be appreciated.  "working on it" is not acceptable. There has been enough time to formulate some sort of official response to this situation, even if it's bad news.My patience has run out. My next communication will be to Consumer Reports, FCC, and the office of the NYS Attorney General.

I have a g5 I like everything about the phone except for one thing...  The call quality sucks so bad and I don't know how to fix it. It sounds like a robot stuttering cause I can't understand why?

Sorry. It's not easy to diagnose and solve some problems, particularly when they are not universal, like this one. For example, the problem is not reproducible in our Chicago office. Thanks to one of our forum moderators, who is based elsewhere, we were able to get the bug reports and testing we needed to track this one down.

 

Now we think the software team has solved this it. We're preparing a patch for distribution. It would be helpful to hear from those of you on this thread once it's out, to see if it works.

Thanks Matt for the update. I want to be included on the test push. I hope this patch does the trick.

Since I returned my first phone, your message was a good reminder to update to the second phone. (I returned the first one in an effort to extend the time I have to return the phone, should this problem not get resolved.)
