Thank you Matt. My info is in my profile and I would be happy to test.  I appreciate your post with specific information.  I think some of the frustration has been how vague the communication from Moto has been on this issue. It seems a lot of people on this thread are technical, and we understand that problems can be difficult to resolve. However some simple things, like aknowledging that there is a problem, that it is widespread, that it can be replicated, or not in some areas (it seems) would have gone a long way towards keeping people patient. It's not just the message, but the messaging.

Hi Matt,

 

I also am experiencing the same issues on Verizon as everyone else on this thread while using HD voice to make calls, just signed up for an account so I can put my IMEI in to receive the update. Would love to test this out to see if it works since half the time my HD voice calls were unintelligible. I tried opening a case a while back but like others on this thread I was offered a replacement phone rather than an update. If you can send the update to me as well I'll gladly post results since the call quality issues were happening to me on a daily basis.

Thanks Matt. I just added my ID to my profile. After reading this thread last night I turned off the HD calling. I made three calls today with no proble, I also went into my basement where reception was bad with my Samsung S5 and continued my conversation with my son in LA who has a Samsung S7.  I won't be returning the phone now, knowing that I have a temporary workaround and that you are working on a fix. Lew

I know just enough to be dangerous!

I know it's frustrating. And from our side, we hate to overpromise. I really want to see a fix working before I say anything, and even then there can be hold-ups and issues. But I know that doesn't help when your phone is driving you nuts.

 

I can't give timing, but I wouldn't have posted if I didn't think it was coming pretty quickly.

Sorry. It's not easy to diagnose and solve some problems, particularly when they are not universal, like this one. For example, the problem is not reproducible in our Chicago office. Thanks to one of our forum moderators, who is based elsewhere, we were able to get the bug reports and testing we needed to track this one down.

 

Now we think the software team has solved this it. We're preparing a patch for distribution. It would be helpful to hear from those of you on this thread once it's out, to see if it works.

Well Samsung is offering me $300 off the S8 with working phone trade in.  I have waited long enough.  I'm going to try to do that and consider this a rental gone bad.
