I've enabled, so far calls are ok, just have to wait and see if calls remain clear

I seem to be still having the issue on a call I just made, could barely understand the person, needed to hangup and call them back with VoLTE off. Anyone having better luck than me? Do any additional steps need to be taken after the update like clearing cache?

I highly doubt this was the update to fix the issue. It looks like it was just a two version old security roll-up. I didn't even bother trying out volte after I read the release notes.

I installed last night and have made 5 calls with no call quality issues yet but I tend to agree with techyt after reading  release notes about update. No mention of fix for call quality on Verizon. My calls have been trouble free since update. Keeping my fingers crossed

Hey MotoTom,

  I just got a new Motorola G5 Plus from amazon.com and am having this problem. Choppy voice calls, but a restart resolves the issue for 12ish hours. I'm very frustrated, and want to know if this is

  • a hardware bug (I should exchange my phone for another G5 plus and it will fix the problem)
  • a hardware problem (The G5 Plus actually does not work with Verizon, as advertised, and I should pick a different phone)
  • a software problem (This will be fixed soon, and If I otherwise like the phone I should hold tight).

An upfront answer would behelpful, because I don't want to miss my return window if this phone does not work on verizon.

Hello,

 

I just buaght a G5 Plus from Amazon for Prime Day.... and then I found out about this.

 

Is there a fix in the works?  Do I need to see about returning them to amazon (I bought 2).  

 

Where we live Verizon is the only option and the Amazon page, the Verizon site, and the Motorolla site all say this phone was fully compatbale with Verizon.  However, that does not seem to be the case on these forums.  Has anyone had a good experiance?

They keep saying fix is coming but this has been going on since March. You can wait like us or return. The phone works fine as long as you keep enhanced calling turned off
