Glad it worked!! Still working on my end.

All, please try the settings tee149 suggested to see if it help. If it does, then please also test with Enhanced 4G LTE enabled. I want to make sure all the features still work.

  1. Yes
  2. Both
  3. It went away when I turned it off, but it would be nice to have access to all features of the phone.
  4. It is listed.

  1. Tucson, AZ - Times have been almost any time
  2. Not sure what you'd want the screenshot for... but It happens at ma signal strength, on wifi, LTE, full battery, etc. This isn't a case of operator error.

Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

I've got this problem too. I've experienced this problem in Baltimore, Frederick, Carroll, Howard, Anne Arundel, and Montgomery counties in Maryland.

I've had it when connecting to other Verizon customers, non-Verizon wireless, and also wireline customers. It's intermittent, sometimes when driving it comes and goes. If I'm standing still it will usually connect correctly and stay that way or connect poorly and stay that way. A couple times it was good then went bad, but I lacked the patience to stay on the phone long enough to see if it got better.

Yes, you can turn off enhanced services, and voice quality is fine. But my observation is this turns off VoLTE, which turns off talking while surfing (or in my case, talking while using mobile hotspot). I'm coming from a Moto X Pure Edition, which also had VoLTE turned on, and I never had any voice quality issues. I'm travelling all the same areas, so I can't imagine it's a network issue.

I returned my G5 Plus and got another one. By the third call I was having the same exact issues.

Really hoping there's a fix soon.

I'm at close to two days of problem-free calling with the settings that tee1349 suggested. I'm going to give it another day before I try to re-enable VoLTE.

I am having the exact same problem with my G5 on the Verizon network. I am completely unable to understand what anyone is saying during a call unless I turn off the Enhanced 4G LTE feature. The fact that Lenovo released a phone that is unable to function as a phone out of the box seems a bit absurd.

I retract my previous message about calls working with the Enhanced 4G LTE turned off.  I couldn't hear anything on any of the calls I tried to make today. I would also like to apologize for having called this device a "phone" as it is completely useless for making calls. I am returning the pocket computer tomorrow.

I tried turning the 4G/LTE feature back on today. Within a few hours, the garbled audio was back and the phone was unuseable for calls. I turned it back off, where it will stay until there is a fix.

Ever since turning off Enhanced LTE, I've had problem free calling ... I think today is the 5th day.    I've tried turning Enhanced LTE back on but the unreliability returns ... so it seems very likely that the problem is with Enhanced LTE.

I'm in the Denver metro area.

Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

I have made calls for several days with “Enhanced 4G LTE Mode” enabled and disabled.

I consistently can’t hear caller when Enhanced Mode is enabled.

Call quality is OK when Enhanced Mode is disabled.

Since I am not satisfied with a brand new phone that is not working in Enhanced Mode I have questions for a Motorola/Lenovo Rep or MotorolaTom.

Is this problem widespread?

Is there a plan to fix this problem?

Should I just return my “pocket computer”?

Is there some other technical support avenue I should explore, since calling Verizon support is not an option?

Thanks, Steve

So far mine appears to be working with HD voice disabled.  I did it through the Verizon website since I was getting iffy results with turning off Enhanced LTE directly on the phone.
