Now that you mention it. I started having these same 2 problems as well. 

The most annoying is the search delays.

Now that you mention it. I started having these same 2 problems as well. 

The most annoying is the search delays. 

Ok...if others are having this too, then i'm sure it's a software bug and an update can fix them

I had my issues with the calls from my g5 out of the box. My FB messenger calls have better quality.

Coverage smoverage. It occurs when I'm on wifi. FB messenger calls sound much better. I've had Verizon for years and the call quality on my galaxies was fine.

3. Adaptive Brightness does not always work - screen is too dark for seeing
4. Gestures and motion controls not working - when turn phone upside down does not go into Do not disturb and also, picking up phone does not stop ringing (I don't think this ever worked)

It is almost as if these problems started after the update I got 2 weeks ago. Anyone else?

I had to exchange my phone recently under warranty for this very reason. The one would constantly shut down every day. Usually twice a day. It wouldnt restart itself. I had to manually turn on the phone. I took it back to bestbuy and they did the warranty exchange in store. I picked up another G5 Plus and its working fine. I hope it doesnt develope that issue again. I tried everything software wise to solve it but i couldnt figure it out. I reset the phone several times... it just kept shutting down twice a day randomly.

Any updates from the Motorola Team?

 

Should I start looking at LG and Samsung phones to replace this motorola or is there actually progress?

 

There has been too many instances where I notice this issue (not being able to use google maps and get traffic updates while on a call, not being able to use a 2FA app to access work resources while on a call, etc.) I would of bought the Moto z2 Force but no one from Moto on this forum thread could even assure me the issue would not be present on that phone. So at this point I really feel like my only option is to no longer buy Moto phones after owning only motorola phones for the past 8 years. It seems like Lenovo/Moto is more worried about quantity than quality.

I honestly wonder if this is band related.  I've been using this phone on Verizon off and on since the phone came out in the US.  I'm mostly on band 2 and 4 in Michigan and haven't had the garbled connection problems, fingers crossed.  Maybe band 13 is where the issues are happening?  I'm rarely noticing im on band 13 here in michigan, which might be why I've had good luck so far.

You have to download an app from the play store called LTE Discovery. It will tell you what band your phone is picking up at any given time.
