Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

  1. Advanced Calling/Enhanced 4G LTE is disabled.  I also removed HD Calling from the Verizon website.
  2. Choppy audio happens with both incoming and outgoing calls.
  3. I'm currently testing with Advanced Calling/Enhanced 4G LTE disabled.  Since the problem is intermittent, it's too soon to tell if this is a successful.  So far so good though...
  4. I've updated my profile as requested.

I changed the settings tee149 suggested and still having call quality issues.  It is disappointing as I like everything else about the phone.

I am having the same issue. I have turned off Lte enhanced calling and the call quality has improved. My issue is that I now can't browse the Internet while on the phone. As others have noted this is a brand new phone, I don't understand why it doesn't work properly out of the box. I would appreciate someone from Motorola looking into the cause of this problem and posting any potential fixes that allow all of the phone's features to work.

Has everyone received the update? After receving it I saw improvement in the calls with VoLTE on. HOWEVER, it was only when I was motionless. While driving, with phone on the seat but car moving, still had choppy phone call in area I had no issues with previously on my Moto X Pure.

I received the 911 update, turned Lte on, had same issue, turned it off. Interested to hear feedback from others.

I too got the 911 update afterwhich I turned the Enhanced LTE mode on and that didn't resolve the lousy call quality.   With the  Enhanced LTE mode off, calls are as good as can be expected.

In a week or so I'll be in Europe with a local SIM card ... I should find out then whether the issue is with Enhanced LTE/Verizon or the phone's implementation of that mode.

I have this exact same issue. I was already on the E911 update when I had a garbled call this morning I just spoke with Verizon support and they suggested turning off the Enhanced LTE as others have suggested in this post. I am going to also turn it off on the VZ account and see how my calls are.

Same problem as others have described.  With HD Calling enabled on Verizon's network, others can hear me, but the sound on my phone is very choppy to the point that I cannot carry on a conversation.  When I turn HD Calling off, the voice quality improves greatly.  Looking for a fix . . . .  Using the phone in the Dallas, Texas area.

I also did 911 Update.  Still garbled calls - LTE Enhanced ON, Fair voice quality when OFF.

Does anyone know how long Amazon lets us return a phone for a full refund?  I am willing to wait patiently, but only if I know that Lenovo is actually commited to fixing this issue, and so far I am not confident a fix is imminent.

I got the phone yesterday and had the 911 update.  Today, all the calls I made got 'garbled' at times in the call, but not for the entire call.  I am going to try turning off the LTE and see if that resolves it.  I see several people talking about turning it off online on their account.  Where do you go to do that?  Also, I am in Virginia and on Verizon and the signal was good when this happened.  Hopefully there is a solution coming for this because I love the phone and was happy not to have to get a phone through Verizon.
