Can someone explain to me why it takes a company the size of Lenovo/Motorola 4 months to figure out how to make one of their phones work (all the while selling more), then 3+ days to "roll out" the fix? I've waited long enough you fools! WHERE IS MY UPDATE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Equally importantly, how is it legal for a company to KNOWINGLY SELL A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT ... a product they know to be incapable of performing its primary function? Is there a class action lawsuit in the works?

No update either. 8 GB L Verizon Plan. G5plus 4/64 from Newegg. I wonder if updates are rolling out to the newest phones made and working their way back to the old phones...or there is no rhyme or reason at all...People need the juice.

I didn't get the update yet but my wife got hers. We both have the 64 gb Amazon phones with ads and we are both on Verizon. After she updated we turned Enhanced 4g LTE mode back on. The choppy calls came back. She could not make out what people were saying so after a day of using it she disabled Enhanced 4g LTE mode again. The update did not help on her phone.

Did you enable LTE on the phone profile online back on Verizon's website as well? Or both the phone settings and Verizon profile...

I never changed it on the website in the first place. Would I need to change it there too if I had only changed it on the phone?

Been a couple days for me now and I haven't had to restart my phone since the update. Calls have still been good. Hoping they stay that way. I also wondered if they were pushing out updates based on date of purchase, but I think I got my phone in March or April and got my update fairly early on. Sounds like some newer buyers already also have the updates. Who knows how they decide? Anyways, I see at least one person reporting the choppy calls are back. Hopefully it's not something on the update end. So far, it's working great here. Throwing that out there so they know that it didn't break my phone, seems to have worked, and it's probably safe to keep rolling it out. Hope the rest of you get it soon and it works for you.

It is not defective or incapable of performing.


It's a small corner case where the software isn't 100%.
Turn off VoLTE and calls are fine. Use it on a different carrier and calls are just fine.
Many could use VoLTE with Verizon just fine as it's just some areas affected.

Microsoft has made a fortune selling buggy software (remember the BSOD days of Win95/98? Well Window 8 still crashes often on one of my machines).
This is a far less severe issue affecting far fewer people.

Besides, I thought you were taking it back. That's what you said last month.

Likely no rhyme or reason. Mine is at least 4 months old. Bought to be a backup Verizon phone but currently on a MVNO. And has the amazon ads. I'm assume the 2 updates the last 2 days include this fix (20m and 50+ m).
