Not quite three full weeks yet. Been 15 days since MotorolaTom informed the board that those of us with the May 1 update would have to wait; "a couple weeks away (hopefully sooner)". Still is frustrating though to be waiting for the update to fix one fo the two major issues I have with this phone. Low earpeice audio volume issue being the 2nd major issue many have complained about.

Wanted to update on the Volte Fix, so far, no choppy calls for which I'm thankful.  However, ever since the fix, I have been experiencing many dropped calls, the scrolling delay has gotten worse, and the volume has been reduced further.  I could barely hear videos.

Phone says your device's software is up to date. IT IS NOT. This phone is 2 weeks from everywhere...

  Do you have any further information on update that those of us did not get? Do we have to wait till oreo update? They say silence is golden but in this case it is a pain in the a$$.

So I know I should stick to the topic, but since I feel like venting I'm not gonna do that. I'm having a couple other problems with my phone. wanted to see if this is happening to anyone and/or get suggestions, as I prepare to call into support this morning.

 

1.  When I am on a call, the phone accidently dials people on my star list when the phone woulld touch the side of my face. I effectionately call it "face Dialing". It got so bad that I had to install an app to confirm calls, which messed up my ability to place calls in my car via bluetooth. The app has a feature that disables the call confirm if bluetooth is on, which is nice, but if I forget to turn bluetooth off I start face dialing again.

 

2.  Similar issue as above. I have not figured out how to get around it yet.  When I'm on a call, if  I accidently touch the screen, and the phone call is no the front window, people can't hear me talk anymore.  If I press the ongoing call and bring it back in front, people can start hearing me talk again. This happened twice on one call with my boss yesterday, which was a great time.

 

These two super irritating issues combined with the VoLTE problem are making this phone more trouble than it's worth. If I can't get satisfactory answers from support this morning, I'm gonna demand a refund from Amazon, even though it's been like four months. I've have enough

If you have the phone in a case and/or screen protector, you may try removing those and cleaning the screen and see if you still have the problem. Since it sounds like a proximity sensor issue, any of those things could be a potential cause.

 

If nothing like that fixes it, you know they are also going to recommend a factory reset, so you might want to get that out of the way too.

 

They may actually replace your phone under warranty if you try all those things and still have a problem which could work out well for you if the replacement comes without the may update! :)

 

I actually got my G5 as a warranty replacement for a g4 that was having touch screen issues...

It is as far as Lenovo is concernned. There is no update available for it.

I'm on day 18 and counting without the update on VZW (in my case an MVNO) using the May 1 Android security patch level (NPNS25.137-35-5).

Purchased this phone direct from Motorola last week. Just signed up with Verizon and am being offered the NPN25.137-35 update. I haven't actually installed the update yet, but if I'm being offered this update will I not be able to get the NPN25-137-43-5 update?
