The announcement came out in the past few days that Oreo will be rolling out to the G5+ in the next couple of months, so I'm guessing we will have to wait until that happens.

At least I hope they include the fix for our problem with the Oreo update. It would not surprise me if it's a separate download that we will still have to wait on.

About time to file a class action lawsuit. Seems the only way Motorola understands. Any one interested?

Re: 5 Plus on Verizon - very poor call quality

I have the same issue as those posting before.  I can be heard perfectly by the folks I call but  can not make out anything thing more than a word here and there.  I experience this mostly while driving with or without the blue tooth connected, as most of my calls are made out side of my home while commuting. It will happen in the house as well but not always.   I live in Maine and have had this issue in all places I have made or received calls in.  I too have had my phone for about 38 days and cannot return it.  I will try to use the temp fixes suggested, but like most of you, its hard not being able to use what I pd for!

Complete waste of time. It would take years in the courts and only the lawyers would benefit.

It's not like you have thousands or millions in damages. At most you are out $300 for the phone.

Even with a few thousand class members, I doubt you'd find a lawyer interested in the case.

The staff here have been almost comm silent in this thread since 08-21-2017 on the status of the update for those of us with the May 1st firmware. MotoTom's reply at that time...

If you had your VZW SIM out of your phone and somehow got the Security patch in June (May security update) then sadly your device will have to wait for the next round of updates. We didn't push the May security update to devices that had an active VZW SIM installed. That being said you'll still get the update but it's likely going to be at least a couple weeks away (hopefully sooner).

Well its been longer than "a couple of weeks" and we're still waiting.

Sadly this is true. Seems my family has the worst of luck when it comes to purchasing cellphones. Two brothers and sister and mother bought the lg v10 all 4 have boot loop. Bought the Moto G5 plus for my girlfriend ( successfully converted from Apple) and this happens. Wouldn't be such a big deal but she is a technician and needs data and voice same time. She is now back to her iPhone 5s. I guess this is why I purchase flagship phones, over priced I know but my Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch, OnePlus One, and now Pixel XL have had zero issues. Bright side gives me a reason to buy the Pixel XL 2 and give her my current one. I will never buy a Motorola or LG device (personally had a LG $600 portable AC die in 7 months and they wanted to pay $175 for their tech to diagnose it) ever again. Lessons learned. /Rant.

I do too, though a generation or two old when I buy them. Controls cost and lets the bugs get worked out.

People have had some success in gtting LG to repair/replace the G4s and V10s affected.

I'm looking at a G5 now though maybe a G6, hoping the RS988 get some love form 3rd party developers.
(Hope the Moto G+from this thread gets some too for my wife)

And 3rd party support is where I look for updates over time. None of the OEMs support products long, yet I can run Android 7.1 on my LG G2 (well, LN14.1) and 8.0 is looking good (a phone from 2013). Same with my tablets (Nook HD from 2012, Nook HD+ also from 2012, and Galaxy Note 10.1 from 2012, all originally running 4.0 ICS)

Battery is the only reason I'm looking to replace the LG G2. It's getting old and replacements are of questionable quality/life. I'll buy a few OE replacement for the next phone while available.
