Actually Motorola made good quality phones. It's only since Lenovo took control of the company that things went bad.

Just like every company they take over turns to crap.

At this point I've pretty much given up hope that it will be fixed. I am fairly convinced that the problem would return in Oreo anyway. Apparently Moto personnel don't bother to show up unless someone curses.

I'm so done with this company at this point.

It appears that the people, like me, who got the fix are no longer complaining, so this must be a good fix.  It is bewildering to me why they haven't pushed this out to every phone in the world.  What is Lenovo thinking?

Good question. The lack of official communication on this issue and others leaves one wondering what is going on internally at Lenovo/Moto. I would think it must be costing them sales as prospective customers see the litany of complaints both here and in other online/social media discussion areas. And it is causing existing customers to look elsewhere after returning their Moto G5 Plus phones when these issues are not addressed/fixed in a remotely timely manor. One wonders if Lenovo/Moto is more focused on selling hardware regardless of how buggy it might be six or more months after introduction, rather than selling a polished product with timely updates.

The lack of official communication leaves its existing customers who are frustrated with their phones not working as expected to speculate, often wildly, and vent their frustrations in these discussions.
