Thank you. I found it. There was only 7.2 kb in the cache, but I did delete it. I haven't gone through every program, but am not finding any with bloated cache that should be causing a problem. For the most part it's kilobytes or a few megs. I don't have this problem all the time. Sometimes when Im doing a search or typing a comment in Facebook it freezes up or just goes slow as can be and I have to wait forever for it to catch up. I think it has done it when I text too. My wife who got her phone when I got mine has complained about this too. She uses her phone more than me. I have an iPhone 6 Plus from work I use at least half the time.

Of course I rebooted it. And rebooted it. And rebooted it.

 

It starts the update with the spinning colored circle thingy, the little progress bar moves, and... BAM! ... I get the dead Android guy with the red triangle coming out of his guts. Something like this stock image from a Google search:

 


Sorry you are having trouble with yours. I would say try calling or chatting with moto support about this specific issue. Or, if you prefer to keep at it on your own, the only other thing I could think of to try would be a factory reset. (Also, I'm sure you already thought of this, but plug in and have a good charge)

No notification for the update. Checked through settings and says up to date.

I really don't want to pull the SIM and force it given the problems that caused.

But it would be nice to get the security patch. She has BT on all the time. Thankfully she's mostly at home or in an office.

 The download verified itself each of the five times that I've attempted this stupid update today. I just don't understand this. I'm hoping that somebody can just stick an update.zip version of this somewhere so I can just sideload it from my SD card.

Just an update. I have a g5 plus received direct from Motorola (i.e. not an Amazon phone) but for which I pulled the Sim to get the May update previously and have thus been waiting. I have now updated to the 137-83 update. So far so good, all calls have been clear with enhanced LTE turned on. Hopefully the last few of us that have still not receieved the update or are getting errors will get theirs sorted out soon!

Got the update and have had clear calls. I did notice that the enhanced 4g option to toggle on and off was no longer on my cellular network options. I did however call verizon and they said it was on. Tried making a few calls why on the net, and it did work just fine.

It will show up, just not here ;)

 

Certainly sounds like somehing is wrong either with your phone or the download, but the normal process doesn't really offer any useful information.

Motorola Matt, this an urgent update.  I receive the first update sent out this poor call quality.  It worked well up to yesterday.  Today, was the day from hell.  I'm a medically disabled Verizon customer, with many life threatening medical complications.  I depend on being able to call many Doctors at all times, due to my conditions. I am on record calling Motorola on this very issue since BEFORE this phone came out on April 1st on this very issue.  My Doctors are extremely frustrated and angry with Motorola not being able to fix this issue and put my health at risk, because they can't communicate with me due to a phone that can't perform it's basic function.  All day today, my phone calls both ways we're garbled, could not communicate with my Doctor's or the pharmacy to refill critical needed medications.  This issue for me has been going on for too long.  I need you to contact me as soon as possible.  Thank you.
