The new update seems fixed the VoLTE issue. BUT now I am facing another issue, the vibration stops working periodically, I have to shake the phone to get it to work then it stops working again....It just happened since last week, anyone has the same issue? Thanks!


 

No, everything seems to be working fine for me now.

i just got the 5g plus.  and so disspointed to hear about its issues since i'd already dealt with a lost phone etc and now issues with the new phone.  another work day wasted trying to resolve phone issues.  having said that, the fix to turn off the enhanced 4g thing in settings seemed to have worked.  but now, i'm wondering if that is temporary.  if this phone is an issue, i'd rather return it now during my grace period at the store.  does anyone know if tis quick fix is helpful permanently on this phone or are issues going to come up again?  if anyone has used their phones long enough to know i'd appreciate some feedback.  

 

also, i read in one of the forums that sometime last year, engineers are aware of this issue and working on a resolve.  this problem obviously is still there.  is there any fix in sight?

Majority of us that have been posting here have recieved the update to Build NPN25.137-83 and this seems to have resolved the problem so that we have good call quality WITHOUT turning off enhnced 4G. All seems to be working well now.

This phone is just a gap phone so my expectations are pretty low.  I also was more then willing to give LeNOGo and Verizon a shot.  Simple don't buy Lenovo, return if you can, don't use Verizon if possible and get a **bleep** Nexus/Pixel phone and don't worry about carrier delays.  I just got a mint used first gen Pixel and I'm loving it.

Did you update the software yet?

What version is currently on the phone?

 

The VoLTE/HD Voice issues were solved in NPN25.137-83  and NPN25.137-43-5 and your phone should update to one of those.

glad to hear there is a fix.  thanks for the suggestion.  how can i get Build NPN25.137-83?  i didn't think to do an update since it's a brand new phone and sure enough there were a couple of updates that needed to be done.  phone said Build NPN25.137 first.. and thought maybe after the update i will get another build...  but it appears that both updates that were pending were not Build NPN25.137-83.  any suggestions?

 

as far as me leaving verizon and motorolla.. i like motorola and verizon both and have been satisfied with their products and services.  although i do have to say verizon has become in the last couple of years just like all the rest of the carriers.  it used to be unique in its treatment of customers and quality of deals.  not any more.  they are pretty much really average now.

I posted this question in another thread, but this actually seems to be the more appropriate location for it.  If I leave Verizon for another carrier and my phone has been patched for the calling fix that rolls back the security update to March, is it possible to catch back up with security updates once I've joined another carrier, or do I have to wait for the next major update?  The other Moto G5 Plus models are up to the August Security patch update in the US.  Thanks in advance.

Well, it didn't roll anything back, it just hasn't been updated further.

Unclear how to get -43 to update to -83. One or two people claimed to get it but most haven't.

I tried removin the SIM checking for updates and that didn't offer it. I don't know if using another carrier's SIM would do it or not.

Not any good reason I can think of for them not to push -83 to all US devoices but thay have not done so yet.

I've been on 37 and tonight I was updated straight to 83.  Never received the 43 update.  The 83 is an August dated update.

 

So far it seems to be working good.  I never had the enhanced voice problems with Verizon with the old version but did a test to be sure it's still clear with the latest update and it is.

 

The 83 update did not list what was fixed other then the general preformance updates and security fixes.

 

I have the Moto G5 Plus -4gb/64gb - XT1687 on Boom Moble running on Verizon.  Boom moble runs on Verizon post paid network so it does support the Enhanced 4G LTE Mode.
