Battery Drain.

2018-11-15, 5:46 AM

My Moto G5S Plus' battery is draining very fasy. It charges fast too. I mean that it comes at 100% in just about 40 mins and then drains the whole battery in about an hour. Sometimes when the charger is plugged in it shows 80% and as soon as I plug out the charger it comes  down to 4% or less.

I have been facing this issue from a couole of weeks.

Please suggest me some solution.

Here's the Screenshot regarding my phone's battery life. :)

I've seen this on a different forum. Can you use a standard USB cable and a normal charger? They are really cheap to buy if you don't have a USB wall plug,

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Black-Multi-3-Port-USB-AC-Wall-Charger-Home-Plug-3-1A-Universal-for-Cell-Phones/675045145

It will charge the battery the normal way.I'm a bit suspicious of these,"Fast Chargers" and would only use one in an Emergency.

My 2 cents.

HTH :)

OK

I hope it's not a hardware fault so what I would do is fully backup the phone and do a Factory reset.Somtimes this cures system problems that appear like hardware faults.

I  keep backups of my Phone stuff also on my Laptop/PC.

Seems like a Hardware fault.

Is the phone out-of-warranty?

I'd ring around a few small local phone shops and see how much a Battery replacemet would be.Of course this might not be the problem so you will have to decide the cost benefits.

I've built my own PCs and repaired my own Laptops over the years so if the Battery went on my Moto I would replace it myself. It's not rocket science and with the help of YT videos it's not that hard,

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=moto+g5+battery+change

and I bought a cheap Phone toolkit just in case as it's also useful for my Laptops,

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mobile-Phone-Screen-Opening-Repair-Tools-Kit-Screwdriver-Set-for-iPhone-X-8-7-6/311844238408?hash=item489b5d7448:m:m71TxHC1RANhVEKtjwiiXeQ:rk:13:pf:0

and the batteries aren't too expensive.

But have a look through some of these links just in case there is a Software fix,
