Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

If you are suffering with shortened battery life, this is not going to change.

Just reset the phone to factory settings and start again.

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

I have given up on moto by now !

recently I received an security update of February 2019 in the month of july 2019 !

After that it's like they are mocking us.

So, by now I can proudly say I have at least stopped 10 people from buying a moto device, who are actively looking for buying a moto and many more by not recommending them a moto device.

it's all about karma !

I will continue my path because I have been a victim of this brand !

Even though the MOTO G5 PLUS doesn't have a gyro, don't have dual volte support or dual 4G support, even then I bought two devices just bcz I thought It's a software strong company..I would get fats updates and bug free device but I was wrong !

I am gonna do my best to make them suffer from my side...!

Keep it up moto !

You are gonna be in the market for sale one more time soon !

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

I have no issues with my Android Moto G5 and would buy them again. I hope that users who listen to your ill informed opinions are able to  check the true state of affairs before making a decision what phone to buy.  If you want an idiot-proof experience then pay three or four times as much for an i(diot)Phone.  Then you get the benefits of being locked in to one operating system and one vendor at a much higher cost. Those of us who are technically competent have no issues with Moto.

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

you sounds like a isheep !

A Chinese company named Xiaomi..gives at least two OS updates !

their phones which were released with this device have Android 9 !

You can buy whichever phone you want even if they are worth it or not but I won't prefer this company anymore !

and what would you say about the points I mentioned; No dual 4G, no gyroscope, no LED, Not even security updates !

give some solid points if you want to argue that this company is worth it !

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

When I bought this phone ! Oreo was coming ..and I thought I would get at least that within 4 months or so from the launch of the OS but I get it after the launch of P was announced !

Bravo if you support a company like this !

At Lenovo, the solution to almost any problem is always a factory reset.
This is a drastic solution. I wouldn't do that.
How much time do you have to spend setting up your smartphone again?

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

I use Nova which I can easily backup everything and restore it on any device.

It does restore shortcut, everything on pages, installed apps.

Try it.

It is really easy to fully customize your phone.

Re: Battery life has shrunk drastically

In this case a factory reset does fix the problem. Google play reinstalls apps for you and you get a chance to purge old apps you never use. It certainly worked for me, and it's a few minutes well spent.

Month laters, EdT still defending the right fortress and others coming up with the wrong solutions. Do not install unnecessary apps that will end up reinstalling old stuff that will cause problems. Especially that Microsoft interface. Keep it down to what motorola provided . Install latest versions from same app with help from your account details in PlayStore. Yes, It will do that. Any other backup tools will reinstall old problems unless thet just put back data.  Mostly not. Google had a good thought about designs of its system, data and apps. Stick to that.

Do you mean "Stick to factory reset & reinstall all apps" with every single problem? My life is too short to do that. ;-)
