Re: Battery Life problem after update

Battery life terrible now, after August security patch - used to be one of the best things about this phone! (Haven't noticed running hot so much, as others have mentioned.)

Re: Battery Life problem after update

There are lots of discussions starting in the last 48 hours on this blog about this problem... So it appears to be a widespread problem.

I've called Motorola Customer Service several times over the last 48 hours and can't get their attention.... just of alot of I'm sorry's.   I was told by Customer Service that they cannot back-out the update...  I'm guessing that's a canned statement;  I have a hard time believing they can''t back it out or provide instructions for backing it out.

I was told the only solution is to send them my phone (still under warranty) and they will send me a refurbed phone.  Not acceptable to  me. Has anyone found a way to deal with this?

If not I think customers need to start hounding motorola "in mass":

Suggestions:

1) Email their executive complaint person at:  ceomoto@motorola.com

2) If you have a local news station that researches unresolved consumer complaints, call them.

Re: Battery Life problem after update

I did a wipe on the partition cache (google it for instructions). Problem solved!

Re: Battery Life problem after update

I just did that. Waiting to see if it helps. Right now I am charging for the 3rd time today.

Re: Battery Life problem after update

@Jonnienashivlle I just did this myself, and hoping for the same thing. Here is link on how to do this for everyone else who wants it. Note: it's say 4th gen MotoG but works for G5

Re: Battery Life problem after update

@Jonnienashville I've done it twice myself, but the first time did not work, nor the 2nd time so far, CPU X says my phone is running 33C(92F) on boot, but feels warmer even with my case off(I use a wallet case). Going to put on charge at 88% battery left, and see what happens.

Edit: to be noted My partition wipe took less then 30sec both times, so don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Re: Battery Life problem after update

Didn't help mine as far as battery drain. Was fully charged 3 hrs ago. Haven't used it all and I'm down to 40 %. It's also very warm.
