Fingerprint sensor not working

It's just been 2 days and all of a sudden my motog5 fingerprint sensor stopped responding with no vibration . The home button feels like dead and under security also there is no fingerprint seson option it also vanished away .

Have you rebooted? tested in safe mode? clear cache?

If the scanner settings are missing, then it could be hardware. 

 

So the next step is to do a factory reset - do not restore or install any apps, just reset and then setup your FP scanner if you can. If it comes back, it could have been software, but if still missing it is likely hardware and needs to be serviced or replaced. 

 

Back up any data not backed up by google before you reset.
