My G5 went into the water for about 5 seconds, worked for 20 minutes then died.  Would show first intro screen then shut off.  Rice overnight didn't work, but leaving it in a hot car for several hours did.  Seems to be as good as new, but I'll back it up just in case.  I think it is important to use the micro SD card as your disk drive, since it seems to be more water resistant than the onboard memory.
