Re: Moto G5 Low Volume During Calls

Maximum volume of phone receiver is much too low, receiver output is nearly ususable unless I am in a quiet room. Must switch to speaker and hold speaker to my ear use that instead of the phone receiver.  I tried everthing that Moto help desk suggested to improve receiver output - reset app preferences, clear cache, factory reset - and no improvement. I own iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphones, so I know what good receiver output levels ought to be. Sorry I purchased this Moto G5 Plus...

This problem has been reported by many hundreds of owners worldwide to Moto G5 support on  many different support threads since May 2017. Will Motorola engineering team fix this?

Re: Moto G5 Low Volume During Calls

Fix for MOTO G5 Plus Phone Volume - Simple Setting Change

Click Green Phone Icon to get to the main Phone menu.
Open Settings (3 vertical dots upper right corner)
Select Settings then select Calls then Uncheck the Voice Privacy box [  ]
This will fix your telephone volume problem by deactivating the DEFAULT Volume Privacy buffer
If you would like a tad more volume:
From the Call setting menu Go back one page to the Settings menu
Select Accessibility and checkmark the Turn on hearing aid compatibility box  [x]

If you are having problems keeping any volume control level from falling from 100% back to 75%,

simply hold the volume dot at 100% and simultaneously select [OK] in the excessive volume message.

Hope this helps. Bob

Re: Moto G5 Low Volume During Calls

There is no such thing as Voice Privacy in Moto G5.

Not sure if this is a G5 Plus only, but definitely it doesn't exist in G5.

Re: Moto G5 Low Volume During Calls

Sorry Costaz Posted that in the Moto G5 / Moto G5 Plus forum. You are correct. Those instructions are for Moto G5 Plus. I don't have a Moto G5 plain so if you don't see the options I posted. Please disregard and my apologies.

No problem, all suggestions are welcome. Not your fault, you clearly posted that it is for G5 PLUS.
