[Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

Hi good people,

Just want to make a simple suggestion (for a future update?) - add an option to disable the fingerprint vibration.

I wouldn't mind if it was only when we unlock the phone, but right now I'm using the fingerprint sensor to navigate in the phone (an awesome feature, btw), and it gets annoying after some time. I really only use vibration for calls, no matter the phone I have.

That's it. Thanks for your service.

Best regards.

Re: [Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

I'd also recommend adding option to disable or configure the vibration during lock/unlock.
It's battery consuming since lock/unlock is a very frequent activity on the phone, especially when it has a convenient fingerprint scanner

Re: [Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

Hi sas96,

This works as designed. This notify us if the fingerprint has been successfully registered or failed. Therefore, there is no way to disable it.

Re: [Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

I'm not saying the feature is faulty.

I'm saying it would be great to have more flexibility to it.

Also the vibrations for 'Double-twist' and 'Chop-chop' are too long. So, this feature (adjusting vibration duration) would really help there too.

You can disable the (tiny) vibration during fingerprint navigation by turning off Vibrate on tap in Settings > Sounds > Other sounds.

@sas96

I have that option turned off since I've the phone. It doesn't affect the fingerprint sensor, only the normal (on screen) navigation buttons.

Re: [Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

Hi Jess,

It should vibrate only if Fingerprint is wrongly placed / wrong finger used / other person fingers.

It should not vibrate for successful accepted Fingerprints while unlocking device every time.

It always vibrate for failed or successful Fingerprints, which is directly affect phone battery.

There should be some option to disable it.

Hope OTA will fix it.

Re: [Moto G5 - Suggestion] Add option to disable fingerprint sensor vibration

Hi,

I am also waiting for the option to disable the vibration in finger print sensor in my Moto G5plus

One thing I noticed, while in Power savings mode, it stops vibrating. So its only matter of giving a software patch update to enable this "in built feature" in the UI.

Also, it should be possible to hide the navigation bar when the keyboard is shown. Theres no point if we are using the button gestures to show it.

And please, fix the audio recording issue. I can't understand why its taking so long.

Jesus.
