Motorola G5 plus disapointment

Found out the new Motorola G5 plus was available at Carphone Warehouse. I immediatly drove to the nearest store which had stock.(this an hour away). I asked the usual questions and made my purchase.....

prior to me switching on the phone i decided to do some research on EXACTLY what kind of phone i have.

 

1....  No headphones. Carphone Warehouse states headphones... theres none.

2....  The pamflet inside states  your phone supports 2 sim cards! ( it doesnt)

3... I spent 3 hours trying to find exactly how much Ram my phone has... i want to buy the 3gb.

      so i entered the model number (xt1864) into the motorola website and it states with this model has 3gb.......

      but hold on...... Carphone Warehouse states 2gb????? 

     

I now know EXACTLY what kind of phone i have now. 

I will be returning this phone to the carphone warehouse who told me they dont expect many sales and didnt even have it on show in one of its main stores.

 

exclusive to carphone warehouse....... what a joke. Im going to get my money back

do you even know the EXACT specification of the Motorola G5 plus XT1684?  if you do i want to know it because your website is not clear niether does carphone warehouse.

This is a user to user forum. There is no guarantee that a motorola employee will respond. 

 

The moto uk website says this phone has 3gb of ram. If you opened the box, you could power on the phone and validate this. 

 

I only know of headphones being supplied on some models in asia. 

 

As for dual sim, the specs don't state this. In the past when they do, they usually have asterisk that says varies by model. Are you sure the pamphlet doesn't say this?

The pamflet states its a dual sim phone.,

not really fussed about the headphones,

if the website states 3gb for the xt1684 then it should be 3gb,

the specification of the exact model is not clear.

it should be.

user to user forum. ok well Im telling all the other users on here im going to get a refund if its not 3gb.

The Ram is more important than the processor as far as im concerned.

Making use of the super fast processor.

I hope they adjust their websites and communication between their sellers.

Safe bet is to buy from Amazon (amazon.de, amazon.es - I believe they can deliver to UK).

The memory card slot is combined and should take another SIM - if it is dual.

1. All phone included headphones including from "premium" phones like iphones are cheap rubbish not worth being bothered about. They really should list things correctly but this shouldn't be a dealbreaker.

2. Have read that the UK market model doesn't support dual SIM - rare for the UK editions to support it. Only way would to be sure would be to try. http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/new-product/mobile-phone/moto-g5-news-release-date-uk-price-features-specifications-on-sale-3601187/ "Both phones support dual-SIM, but we're certain UK models will be single SIM as usual."

3. The RAM issue however is important (I asked for clarity here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G5-Moto-G5-Plus/G5-plus-UK-2gb-or-3gb-RAM/m-p/3630365#M1208 ) and a listing error on such a fundamental element is a major issue. Its listed as 2gb from CPW as you know, so if it is 3gb that would be a bonus. But if it is the other way around only 2gb AND a 3gb model will also be available for the same price that would be ridiculous! Is there no other way within the phone's OS itself to list its specs to confirm?

switched on the phone, in the settings its states "memory" at 2.8 gb.......... is that virtual memory or 3gb hardwired ram. too many conflicting messages. its either a yes or no question against using its product code xt1684. really frustrating as i just want to start using the phone

i like my warranty with the store and having my 2 year uk phone warranty
