Re: My Moto g5 till not get 7.1 update

Meaning the November 2017 Android Security Level?

What about Android?  7.0?  7.1?  7.1.1 (which should have been pushed out months ago)?

I'm in Canada (Speakout).  If there's a region designation somewhere, I haven't found it.

Check Settings -> About Phone -> Software Channel

I'm on Android 7.0 with November 2017 Security fixes.

I'm using the G5 in the UK. The November 2017 security patch is the latest moto has issued for the G5

So far I haven't heard of any moto being effected by not having a later patch, so I'm not too worried that I haven't seen a newer update. Providing we use common sence don't open suspect email links or download from dodgy web pages there shouldn't be a problem.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The phone is out of the house right now, but I have an Aida64 report from it, and it mentions "cedric," which is most likely what the software channel says. If it isn't, I'll correct the post later.

Update: Turns out it's bwaca.

For that model, at least, and maybe only in some areas, Lenovo pushed out the March update (NPPS25.137-93-8) last week:

It's a little puzzling that Lenovo never bothered to increment 7.0 to 7.1.1 etc, but I guess that's more difficult (I thought only the major jumps, like 8.0, were the difficult ones). Security updates are probably simple by comparison.
