Re: [OFFICIAL] Android 8(Oreo) Update CONFIRMED!

2018-10-17, 17:04 PM

As the previous security update I had was June, receiving an Aug update on October 16 does make it 3-4 months. Lenovo's updates are not timely and for people to continue to defend the schedule and the lack of communication from them about the lack of updates, explains why they are comfortable doing what they are doing.

I don't rather to say good thing we at least got a security patch update or not. Since the one I downloaded this morning is the exact same one I downloaded about 2 weeks ago. Well hopefully this means 8.1 is around the corner for retus on g5 plus

I got the August security update a couple hours Ago but no Oreo? I'm still running 7.0. My software channel is retus in case you're wondering

Motorola, fast deleting messages that define the reality (no updates).

But very slow on updates.

Received August 1, 2018 security update today (retus) NPNS25.137-93-18 - alas no Oreo.  So not a good sign for getting Oreo in the US anytime soon.  Glad to get the security update, however.

Re: Moto G5 Plus get Android O update..? Now most Stock android device get android O..

Hi moto.

I wont ask for dates - your policy on that is clear. I’m thinking about my next phone - was the intention always to release oreo this late, or was there an issue that caused this long delay? Would be really useful to know. I’m happy to stay with moto if updates are likely to be faster in the future for g6 and maybe g7 (again, not asking for timescales), but it would also be useful to know if the moto g line will usually take this sort of time for updates in future. Thanks

I didn't defend it. Just pointed out you got the Aug patches faster than 3-4 months, and that Motorola has been a little faster than they were last year (when you might have got a June patch in Oct).

Yes, would have prefered the July patch too. Even beter to get them in the same month (July patched in July).

But I will acknowledge the improvement.

I've never had a new enough device to get patches at all.

Just now downloading the Oreo update. I'm on the retgb channel, which is normally towards the back end of the queue, so it probably won't be much longer for people in other areas that haven't got it yet.

Now I have to go and read all the posts about Oreo bugs  :-)
