Android 8(Oreo) Update for moto g5 plus

2017-10-02, 5:43 AM

Motorola confirmed that g5 plus will get Android update , but when it release ?

Motorola use almost stock Android so it will give fast update than others .

So motorola first give update for beta testing for selected users or direct release stable version of users???

And if it give first update to beta testers then how to become beta tester for moto g5 plus?

When it release stable release ??

No one knows when it will release. a good guess will be in between Decembber to February.

And i'm pretty sure that Moto will release beta version first to MFN(Motorola Feedback Network) users.

To become a MFN user, follow this post. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-G5-Moto-G5-Plus/We-need-you/td-p/3609211

For minor changes in stock android isn't it very long time ?
December is acceptable but January or February it is very long time.

Last year Nougat also announced on same date as date of Oreo announcement.

And G4 plus got Nougat at end of December.

So, G5 plus will also get at the end of December. But, knowing the fact that Moto is slow these days, we may get in January.

This is just my Expectations..

They better release 64bit rom for this update. Otherwise I'll keep this g5plus under the hydraulic press.

I doubt that will happen... Why the want of 64-bit so badly, it would not show any improvement or compatibility in the device?

I can't run my apps because it's 32bit , plus the Apps that require 64-bit can't be installed on this. And G5+ can smoothly run 64bit rom , on 3/4GB ram variant.

Guess I am confused... what apps require 64-bit? (Not trying to be argumentative, just curious... Even after going from a 64-bit phone back to this 32-bit one, I have had no issues)

I am not questioning whether the G5+ can run 64 bit smoothly or not... The point is it is unheard of for an Android device from any manufacturer to release with 32-bit then be upgraded to 64-bit.

Moto g4 play oreo update

2017-10-04, 15:28 PM

worst os upgrades(releasing in same time and being member of same family,g4 plus will get oreo update, but g4 play wouldn't get it,coward lenovo owned moto, nougat is not came till now in India).

Moto usually guarantees 2 years of os upgrades. But now lenovo owned moto giving us only 1 year os update.

Worst smartphone manufacturer I have seen ever.

Hats off lenovo owned moto.
