What type of IR Diodes you really need at the back? That also two.

Please check a moto g5 plus by yourself first. And why is it automatic and why is it not under users control?

Moreover I haven't seen any sensor like this before in any moto g phones.

You give me the possible use of this type of sensor (its like proximity sensor) within camera ring and that is also two.

Now coming to the front proximity sensor, why a user is unable to turn off this. Why this is always on, i have checked various settings but this isn't turning off. You give me a valid reason. And don't tell me they are doing something else, i know very well that they have only two work, first ambient light sensing and second proximity sensing.

The proximity sensor and in pocket detection have never been under user control. Why? Because the os knows best in this regard, and there appears to be no good reason to turn these off.

but since you are not a noob, you know this.  You also can't control the accelerometer or turn it off.

I know of no phone that allows every sensor to be turned off.

Hello, So I reached out to some people on my end. Here is the information I got regarding the sensors on the rear of the phone. The sensors are for detecting object proximity, similar to the sensors on the front of the phone, to optimize phone performance.  These sensors do not capture any audio or visual information.

If those sensors are for pocket detection, this should work only when Moto display is switched on.

And chop to flash & twist for camera gestures are from Accelerometer. No use of those proximity sensor.

Talking about flip to DND & pick to silent could use proximity & Accelerometer.

But, when these all gestures are turned off, sensors should be also switched off.

This saves battery and user will satisfied with it. And also yeah, there will be no pink tint of sensors in camera.

Best Regards, Syed Zeeshan.

And we will not have the issue with the red tinted corners in photos and videos in low ligth condition :)
