video recorded at 1080p 60fps is of very low quality

2017-04-10, 9:48 AM

video recorded at 1080p 60fps is of very low quality in comparison to that of 1080p 30fps, 720p, etc. ...you can check it by recording the video at 4x zoom at different resolutions, you will find that the video recorded at 1080p at 60fps is pixelated.....is any one else also facing the same problem...please let me know

Re: Red corners on 1080p 60fps recorded videos?

Matt...

I just found this on Motorola Sources....

https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/commit/5d27eb74e16798cc86483c8937c08629ba7d47ba

This is from December 2016, 3 months before the launching. So, you (as Lenovo) knew this issue and did nothing about it?

Really Nice post now we see how motorola had become slow in pushing update and fixing the problem compared to previous.

No, as I said it's not something that repair/replacement will correct. It's condition-specific.

Please do not PM me - if you have issues, search the forums for threads on your topic and post there, or start a new thread. Thanks!

Not just condition-specific, Matt. It is what you promoted your phone for... and as I posted before, Lenovo knew about this in development stage... why did you sold this phone anyway? why don't you fix it? Were you so rushed to launch a new G? If this IS a issue (and it is) and moto and lenovo know it, and moto and lenovo know that they can not fix it, why not to offer another solution?

I too have the same problem I think it's a manufacturing defect and it's there for 1080p at 30fps it's just that its not visible that much as compare to 1080p at 60fps

Re: Red corners on 1080p 60fps recorded videos?

I have 4gb india variant moto g5 plus. I am also facing redness in dispaly corners during video shooting in 1080p 60fps only. It does not happen during 1080p 30fps & 720p 30fps video shooting mode. I also visited service center 4 times in just one 1 month of purchase. Very rude response from service center and they have no idea about is this a software or hardware problem?. This moto phone is 1st and last mobile brand in my life. I will by redmi or coolpad and may thow after a use of 1 year. It will be still in budget.

*sigh*

You see, Matt, this kind of thing is why I'm having a hard time convincing myself to trust Lenovorola again.  After the many, many let-downs and disappointments of the 3rd Generation G I said "Never again."  Now it seems that, under Lenovo, the "Motorola" brand is about promising more than you'll deliver and then telling customers "Sorry about your luck."

It isn't about this particular problem.  It probably would never affect me.  It's about Lenovorola's attitude.

I'm left wondering what other gotchas there are with this device that, once they rear their ugly heads, Lenovorola's response will be "Sorry about your luck."

Someday the company will go a bridge too far and find themselves the target of a class action lawsuit.  I'm beginning to think it could not happen to a nicer company.

As for me: Perhaps I'll skip the 5th Generation G, as well.
