Screen of my Moto G5 stays on

2017-06-20, 16:05 PM

Hello
Sometimes the screen of my Moto G5 stays on. It is supposed to go to standby after 15 seconds that is what I set in the parameters. There, for example, the screen has been on for more than 10 minutes. This problem is very disturbing. Is this problem known or do I have to bring it back to the store for warranty?
Thank you in advance
Sorry for my English this is not my native language ...

Hi

That's unusual, but have you tried any steps yet, like powercycling your device? When did the issue start? Have you tried enabling safe mode? This will help us identify if there are certain apps that might be causing the issue.

Can you check the display settings ( check step no. 9 ) if it is set correctly. Please let us know what happens next. Thanks!

Regards,
Ella

Hello and thank you for your answer.

I already restart my device and this solves the problem but it can reappear after a few hours or a day...

I have not tried safe mode.

Sleeptimer is set to 15 seconds of inactivity.

Tank you in advance.

Did any of you looked at the software (apps) that is running ?

A lot of apps can keep the screen on even when they run on the background.....   (games have that bad habbit all the time but not just games)

I tried safe mode and it started working correctly. I then rebooted and I haven't hit the issue again yet.

I'll keep an eye on my apk usage and see what triggers the issue.

Start by looking at the permissions....  if you don't find any app  just start removing them one by one till the phone act normal again. Also take a look at Accessibilty. (in the settings)
