Should I do the "clear cache partition" after installing "January 2018 Security Patch" update?

2018-02-19, 12:26 PM

I just installed the "January Security Patch" update on my Moto G5 Plus. Am I suppose to do "clear cache partition" after the installation like you suggested me to do after the "August Security update"?

You're not really required to, but it doesn't do any harm and if you're having problems it can help iron them out sometimes

It is not mandatory. But, good habit to do it after minor updates but, only make sense if you have issue after updating phone.

I do it on every update.

Just next time,  reboot BEFORE you do the update and your good to go....

Updating a running phone results in a lot of code that will be in cache that will be different from the fresh code.....  that is why after a reboot most of the time all problems are gone.

For some reason a lot stop thinking and direct start the update when it's available....   just be smart,  reboot and then download and install   you will see it works a lot smoother....   but yeh  it take a whole 5 minutes longer.

That's nonsense. Any files in use will be written when the phone is rebooting. Makes no difference if you update before or after a reboot.

Seems you don't understand what it's about.   People hit the update button, and just forget about everything, and after a while the complaining start.

If you know how Android works you understand.
