Re: Moto G5 7.1 update

Hello. This is intriguing me. How is it that "RETEU" type phones are waiting so much longer for the update? Personally, I don't really mind if it is updated or not, I'm just curious about Motorola's scheduling plan.  In my household we have both RETGB and RETEU phones. Surely, Android 8 must have been proven to be stable enough to carry on being rolled out consecutively by now?

Best wishes....

Re: Moto G5 7.1 update

Hi @agent_rich,

Any update on this subject? I still have Android 7.1.1 with security update October 2017 (!). I know there are updates for this model and I don't have them.

Re: Moto G5S Oreo Update

OK solved!
Official answer from the German support via email: There have been bugs in the release and the roll out has been stopped.

Re: Moto G5S Oreo Update

Solved? Not at all! Until I get some update (at least security update), the problem is far away from solved.

But thanks for info

Re: Moto G5S Oreo Update

Hi xurc,

We have checked this. it looks like you're behind the latest build. I would recommend doing full Factory Data Reset, without restoring your apps. Make sure you have a working network service and check for an update again. Note to back up your files before doing the reset, so you won't lose your apps and files. If the phone is still not receiving an update I would recommend sending the phone to our technicians to manually flash the phone. You can contact us at this link. Thank you.

Re: Moto G5S Oreo Update

I'm also still waiting on Oreo or October patch (last update was a 01 June 2018 patch) for my G5s (Australia).

Can you please also check my profile too?

Best regards,
Oscar

Re: Moto G5S Oreo Update

Hi,

Factory reset didn't help. Cache partition reset also didn't help. I called to support (as you suggested) and they statement is that Oreo is being tested right now and this version is on hold. All other updates are also on hold. The only solution is to wait until Oreo will rollout to G5S in my channel.
