I have my eyes on the One Power being launched, but will wait for the reviews and see if it is better than the Mi A2.

To be honest, despite the appeal of a stripped down Andriod, the Moto One is just a bit bigger than I would like; the One Power will be even larger!

As an aside, I gather that the alleged "Compass" on mobile 'phones is a 100% myth - it is ALWAYS inaccurate, often wildly so.  I will just have to rely on my trusty old Silva.

Why is it everyone is so intent on downloading and installing a pirated copy of the upgrade?

Makes no sense to me.

You don't know the real source of this downloadable update. You are taking a chance that on all kinds of malicious or spyware software hasn't been added to the build. And you don't even know if its the real OTA update, beta or if its filled with bugs. Its highly possible you are voiding your warranty and will never receive another OTA update or security patch again.

And encouraging others to do the same and pretending it is the official release is just plain wrong.

Yes, that is the sort of irresponsible activity that makes Lenovo look positively virtuous - which takes some doing!

@John_Dee
I don't think any major bugs will be there as Motorola tested Oreo for 6 months. If not then they need to hire some better developers to fix bugs quickly. It will be really unfortunate if they have missed any major bugs as they are providing updates after a year of declaration.

I would have done this in college probably, but that was a long time ago (My first phone in college was a FroYo). Phones didn't have that much personal data.

Now the amount of personal and financial data on my phone is too much to let it be even slightly comoromised. I don't even sideload apps now, let aside a whole OS.

Couldn't understand a word the dude said. Never heard of his ROM hack either. Not gonna install some unknown ROM hack from a unknown source.

Especially when even big name ROM developers don't even have a stable Pie yet.
