Unable to add bank account

I am not able to add bank account in any of the online transaction apps. Eg. Google pay, PhonePe, Pay TM, etc. It's showing couldn't add bank account due to SMS timeout. Bot when I try this is another phone, it's working. Please rectify this problem as soon as possible. Thank you.

Sorry to know that you're unable to add a bank account to this phone. We'll try our best to help. We'll ask you some questions which would help us resolve your concern.

 

  • Are you using 2 SIM cards on this phone?
  • Is your SIM card from carriers in your country?
  • Have you checked if there are some mistakes in your phone number adding your country code when entering it in Google Pay as an example?
  • Is your phone number active and has a balance?
  • Are you connected to an internet connection when trying to add a bank account?
  • When trying to add your bank account, have you tried to connect to a wifi connection to get stable internet?
  • Have you tried contacting Google Pay regarding this concern and see they could check?

My apologies for the delayed response. Thanks for answering the questions as well. I would like to know more.

 

  1. Are you using the default Messages app?
  2. Do you have Push notifications active in these apps? To check, you will need to go to the in-app settings.
  3. Is it asking for an OTP (One-Time Password) when you try to add your bank account to any of the mentioned apps?
  4. Does these apps have permission access to your messages? You can check it in Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Permission manager.

We appreciate you provided us more details. Let's try these steps on resetting the app preferences  and see if this would help. 

 

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Apps & notification
  3. See all
  4. Tap 3 vertical dots on top
  5. Show System 
  6. Tap 3 vertical dots on top
  7. Reset App preferences
