Feature still missing in Pie (I also upgraded to a G6 Plus.
CSipSimple was removed from Play Store.
What? No one wants us to use VoIP anymore?
I recommend to use Acrobits instead of. The Motorola *removed* up SIP and the users using this solution, as I see.

Will try but it is not a solution that they cripple the OS and we have to look for third parties.
I have downloaded the CSipSimple APK and while I started to use it with KitKat it still works fine in Pie

The statement, "not generally supported on our phones due to certification requirements." is misleading and skilfully tells us nothing.
This is, of course, intentional.
We all know that Android (AOSP), as it comes from Google, fully supports SIP accounts in the native dialer.
Lenovo (and some other makers), at the behest of telecom providers, now mask out this SIP functionality in Phone settings. By doing this Lenovo get their "certification" from the telecom industry.
This is the "certification" that Agent_JM would be referring to. Nothing more than that and the reason for this arrangement is obvious.

by default, Moto blocks access to the native Android SIP app. The lack of this lame app doesn't bother me at all. On a rooted device, you can set android.software.sip and android.software.sip.voip to enable the native app. These parameters don't affect third party apps in any way.
