Battery drain

2018-08-29, 4:01 AM

I bought the G6 last night and I previously had the G4. So, I transferred all of my things from my old phone to my new phone via the Google transfer thing that you can do

I noticed today my battery drained very quickly. I charged it to 95% before I left, and about 2 hrs later, it was down int he 70s, and I barely used it

So, I came home, reset it, loaded everything up the same, and battery drain again

So I reset it again and didn't transfer my apps/pics over again, I just did it fresh, but battery drain still seems to be there. It's fine when sitting idle, but once I start using it, seems I lose percentage every minute or so

Definitely don't think this should be happening on a phone that I just bought yesterday. Don't recall having these problems on my G4.

Hi Superstar,

Well, a new phone battery is only charged to about 50% but also a new phone has to do all the set up. This set up process keeps draining your battery by small amounts which results in a shorter battery life.On the other hand, you could just leave it charging to 100% overnight and the next day it should drain quite slowly. This is because all the necessary processes for the device to function as it should are complete. Hope this answers your question.

Thanks

Sandip

I've charged it to 100% several times through the day but it still seems to be draining with very minimal usage..

It should normalize in a few days. If issues persist after a few days, kindly let us know.

If it is really bothering you, try doing a Battery Calibration first and observe. It's best to do this at night before you go to sleep: To calibrate the battery, press and hold the Power button until the screen goes dark, about 7-10 seconds When the screen goes dark, release the Power button and the phone will automatically reboot. Plug the phone in and let it charge overnight. This process will reset the battery table and allow the phone to calibrate overnight

Thanks

Sandip

Ok, your suggestion has not worked. My battery is still draining.
So, now tomorrow I have to make a 35 min drive out of my way to hope they'll let me exchange this. Which I don't want to do. It seems a lot of people are having this issue, can you guys not send out some kind of fix for this?

Can you give me another suggestion to try and fix this, please?

Hello Superstar,

Thank you for replying, please update your profile with the IMEI number of your phone? Is it okay if we look into your apps to determine what is causing the issue? This will help us investigate. Re: Battery drain Moto G6 8.0

2018-10-11, 16:56 PM

My husband and I switched from the same problemConsumer Cellular where we also had Moto g series smartphone to Verizon and we bought the G6 for both of us. Noticed the first day after charging to 100% that by mid morning it had already drained 25%. Whereas the other Motos we had would last a couple days. He and I both experienced the same problem. I use to work for Verizon and always sweetie by Motorola. This is by far the worst battery I have had in a phone. I can't believe that no one else has experienced this problem.
