Black/dead screen

2019-12-23, 19:16 PM

Moto G6 plus.

I've searched just about every forum available and I'm not the only one with this problem. I've tried the guidelines, but no effect. The screen is black/dead (but gives a minor light difference in a dark room). I can feel the vibration when touching the screen, but can't see anything on the display.

Yes, I tried a soft restart (just power button) - no effect, still black

Yes, I tried a hard reset (vol. up + button) - no effect, still black

Yes, I charged the phone for 12 hrs. - no effect, still black

Yes, I also tried the differend vol. up/down/both + power - no effect, still black

Yes, I tried the soft/hard reset prosess with holding buttons in for, 10, 20, 30, 60 seconds. Even five minutes - no effect, still black.

This is not the first time this happens. The last time(s) this happend, I tried the above and managed to make the phone start with a working screen. After finally entering the phone I uninstalled several apps that I suspected caused the black/dead screen and the phone worked for aprox. two weeks.

(For those who wonder; PayPay, Western Union and Skype might cause black/dead screen. My personal experience.

HELP again! This is an issue that should be adressed and fixed by Motorola. Those apps work properly on Xperia and Samsung.

Secondly. This occured after one of the software updates, but I can't say witch one. Also, is there an app that can search though my apps and somehow cross-check with Moto G6 Plus compatibility?

Leave the phone plugged into the charger for a while to make sure it's got some charge.

I know you have tried a lot of Button combos but try this after there's a decent charge in the phone.

Press and hold in the volume down button and keep it held in and then press and hold the Power button and see if you can get into Recovery mode and or see a Dead-Android bot.

I charged the phone for 12 hrs and it didn't help. I can do one more try, but I've allready tried the process you mention.

See if the Lenovo Smart assistant can help,

https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds101291

Download the manual as well just in case.

I can instantly say that the Lenovo assistant won't help me. I can't get past the "enter pin" since I can't see anything on my screen, but thank you. I will try it out once I get the phone up and running properly again. The problem is still status quo.

Just for the record. Phone was again charged for 14 hrs. Tried to hard and soft reset during charging and after charging. Nada. Status quo.

I tried to flash the bl00dy thing with LMSA, but that won't work either. So Motorola, what next?

Is the phone under warranty?

I think you will need to find a local Motorola service centre. Just to be clear I am just a user like yourself and have no affiliation with Motorola/Lenovo.

One of the Moto Agents may be able to add more when they are about.
