Bluetooth comes & goes

2019-07-03, 20:20 PM

Since the pie update my Bluetooth connectivity is very poor. Sometimes it will work for 2-3 days & every device will connect first time, then it will simply stop auto connecting even though it can see the device in recently connected devices.

Forcing Bluetooth to stop & clearing data can help but again not for more than a couple of days.

Any suggestions please?

Hi Dellboy67,

This is unusual, seems like you are handling multiple connections on your device. May I know what device are you having trouble with or is all devices?

We can, however, try a few steps here: Go to Settings > Apps & notification > Show all apps > Click on three dots > Show all systems apps > Search for Bluetooth > Storage > Clear cache/data > reboot your device and observe again.

If this did not help you can perform 'Reset app preferences' for the apps by going to: Settings > Applications >Three dots on the upper right corner > Reset app preferences.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Swaraj

Hi swaraj

I do have multiple devices on BT but not all at the same time.

Having said that my Huawei Watch 2 is always connected & I never have an issue with that.

I’ve tried clearing data & cache many times, as well as rebooting, in fact this has become the norm every couple of days.

Some devices seem to connect better than others but I’ve experienced problems with all of them over the past few months.

Ok well after a few wonderful weeks of working ok since I reset the app preferences my phone has started not connecting to Bluetooth again, I could reset the preferences again but it seems to me that there’s something else that’s at work here - any suggestions for what might be causing this issue please?

I have experienced issues similar to this for a while now with my Moto G6. Have just been dealing with them for a while now. Decided today to see if there was a fix. I searched several different threads about bluetooth issues. This one seems to be most consistent with the issues I face. Some devices won't automatically reconnect. Usually some combinatin of turning bluetooth off and back on again on the phone and the device in question gets it to connect. But this is frustrating as all other phones I've ever had just automatically connect with no issue. Did you ever figure out a fix?

I’ve had mine working fine for some time now, if i recall correctly I solved it by deleting the cache partition;
