<edited for profanity and shouting>

When i look at your battery stats above, it looks normal to me. You have a dual sim phone and you play games. Your total screen on time from what i can see was 4 hours or so too.

Your overnight battery drain is likely due to the dual sim/network - but could be app related. Put your phone in safe mode and airplane mode overnight and see what happens.

If you really think the phone is the problem, reset, don't install any apps, put in airplane mode overnight and see if there is a drain. Then do it again with airplane mode off. Then do it again with one app, and so on.

Re: Moto G6 Battery issue

2018-08-29, 16:41 PM

This is my story in the matter:

I bought a G6 3 days ago in betbuy, used it normally until the battery drained almost completetly, then I started to charge the device and the battery meter started to give completetly random charge %, it went up and down, I left it until the next morning.

The following day I saw a weird behavior, it got stuck during the night at 81%, then never went down while using it in max brightness, even using youtube, mails, etc for a couple of hours.

I rebooted the device and went down to ~45%, then the battery started to drain normally, and waited for it to completetly drain so the device wouldn't be able to turn on again. During that night I started to charge it, and the charge % were completely random again (while android was not running).  The next morning was at 98% and the "charging icon" was stuck, same as the % (you know, the "thunder" icon over the battery). I hard resetted the device, and the started to drain normally, then I plugged in into the AC and the % started to go down (??).

At this point I decided to do a hard reset, and didn't help, then I did a factory reset, same thing. So finally I thought that this must be a hardware<->OS malfunction, perhaps the battery sensors are not giving the right info to the OS. I went to best buy and asked for a replacement (yup! took the risk even reading this forum :)). And finally now the battery behaves normally, drained it completely the first day of usage, charged completetly at 100%, and drains normaly...

I'll keep you posted if the new one fails, but I have high hopes that it won't.

Regards,

moto employees on this forum are sleeping and on Twitter they just say sorry...

So whoever is having the issue make a video on post on Youtube.... G6 is now not my fav.

They say hardware/external damage is not under warranty.. Holding my phone SUCKS - its like 7 mm on left and 9 mm on right...

then give WOODEN build... if u dont cover it.. i bought phone from MOto HUb , [Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra, INdia]

Call them and say those owner to call me and giv a replacement..   ..

Hi Dharmaraj24,

Please do not start new threads before searching for existing threads on the same topic. It causes clutter on the site and makes it harder for us to follow an issue.

Make sure to follow all the rules if you want to participate.  https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Forum-Feedback/Moto-Owners-Forum-Site-Rules/m-p/3269704/highlight/true#M4934

Looking at your profile, it looks like you have plenty of issue in your device that you have mentioned earlier--- as you have mentioned, battery issue - which looks normal to us as the same was explained to you earlier.

If you feel your device is not meeting your expectation in terms of camera/battery/security patch/size of the device etc.. please have your device exchanged or replaced. In order to do so visit our nearest service center and submit your device so that our service center team can further diagnose your device and help you accordingly.

You can write to us at apsocial@motorola.com and share us the job sheet once you have submitted your device for further assistance.

Thanks

Swaraj

Hi @Agent_Swaraj,

Yup the phone is not meeting my expectation.

What do you mean by JOBSHEET???

I have sent you a Private messgae, please check that. Then i will proceed to Moto Hub from where I purchased it.

I'll be honest, for instance Nokia 6.1 Plus for same price give almost twice the performance..

But Moto G6 -- I dont feel to sell [i liked the design], Hence asking for Replacement as it had many issues...

Just check the PM please

Re: Moto G6 Battery issue

Hi Dharmaraj24,

Let me try this one more time; We understand you purchased your device from 'moto hub' and it is not meeting your expectation-- though we did not find an issue in regards to your battery. However, if you are looking to have it replaced or exchanged-- you may have to submit your device at one of your nearest 'services center' -- once you have submitted your device, they will diagnose your device and provide you a copy or receipt (Jobsheet copy). Once you have your Job sheet, we would request you to share us via the 'apsocial@motorola.com' as request earlier so one of our team can further investigate in regards to the same and help you accordingly.

Our team has already requested you for the following details along with your contact details which you haven't shared yet-- please share us the same so our team can investigate this further and assist you accordingly.

Hope this clarifies.

Regards,

Swaraj
